Concur.
Although, umping first base for real is a lot easier than umping first base from your TV screen.
Watch the bag, listen for the sound of the ball hitting the glove.
EDIT: Which is not to say it's easy, just easier.
I also, by and large, don't have much problem with the overall job umps do behind the plate. Some games a guy has a bad game, but for the most part, they're pretty good.
None of which, BTW, means they couldn't be improved upon by the judicious and wise use of replay.
