We're somehow only 5.5 games behind Boston. That's pathetic.

Is he still the Boston manager Monday night?
I hope he washed his hand when he got back to the clubhouse, it looked like it may have gotten drenched in one of his bodily fluids. Hard to tell if it was saliva or vomit though.

I thought for sure this one was over when they got that 4th run.

Nice to exactly a little revenge on Boston - there were a couple of heartbreaking losses when they swept us at Target Field early on, during the horrid 10-26 start.

I would rather have Butera on the bench than in the lineup. The 14th pitcher!

Whatever it was, it was projectile in nature.

No matter the season record, winning still feels pretty good. Winning in dramatic fashion, even better. Winning in dramatic fashion over the self important drama queens in Boston, even better yet.

My god, I was so ready to be pissed at the Twins for wasting DeVries's (I believe) best start when I turned off the radio after the Sox scored their 4th run. Then I turn on the radio and I hear Twins won 6-4 and I am in a serious WTFWTFWTFWTF mode.

---Yeah, it does. 37-34 after starting 10-26. Only 3 games back of Cleveland with 10 games left against them.

Not that a third-place finish is anything to celebrate or aspire to, but after last season's second-half free fall and this season's miserable start, clawing back to that would at least be a step in the right direction.

He put on an absolute clinic on playing 3rd base in this game. Hope Valencia was paying attention. Plouffe, too, from back home.
