At work, watching GameDay. So far the Twins produced a run with a Revere single, stolen base (37), 3-0 Mauer groundout and a wild pitch. Valdez gave up a run in the bottom of the fourth on two walks and two singles. Further damage avoided when Revere threw out a runner at the plate for the third out.

September baseball at it's worst when you have two non-contending teams.

Good thing somebody told Plouffe that went out - it would just cap the season if he had left the field by mistake and had been called out.

3 catchers in the lineup again, must be tough to field a team.

Except when he faces the White Sox, Fien has been outstanding.

They were going to have Herrmann bunt and NOT pinch hit for the weakest bat in baseball not named Butera?????

This would be a nice sweep if they can pull it off.

Well, that's one way to avoid giving up the go-ahead run to the Big Canuck.

Chris just missed his first homer/hit. Escobar predictably can't do anything and Morneau pinch hits for Florimon. What? Now Carrol pinch runs for Morneau . . . what? Why not pinch it for Escobar?

Morneau and Carroll are the stronger hitters there and both should have pinch hit. I guess pinch running Casilla for Plouffe (dumb) limited the choice between Escobar and Florimon (and Gardy still made the wrong choice).

Oh well, at least Plouffe homered.

I saw this comment today at work and thought it had to be a mistake. I checked the pitch-by-pitch on ESPN and that agreed. That was a fairly historic happening! Best I can tell, Mauer has swung at a 3-0 pitch 5 previous times in his big league career and today was the first time since 2009!!!!! Holy cow!!! I'm gonna watch the dvr recording of the game just to see it happen.
