  1. Two-Weeks-To-Opening-Day Roster Projections

The past two weeks, I have attempted to project the Twins Opening Day roster. This week, weíll try it again. I still believe that there are 20 ďGivensĒ at this point, two weeks before Opening Day. I also believe that the five remaining positions are all pretty intriguing and could have several possibilities at this point, especially since there are some injury questions with Scott Baker and Justin Morneau.

There are still 39 players in Twins big league camp which means 14 players need ...
  2. Home Runs Lead to Twins Win Over Yankees

After struggling during the first week of spring training with the bat, the Twins go three home runs on Sunday afternoon to top the New York Yankees 5-1. Joe Benson got the Twins on the board with a long, solo home run in the 5th inning. In the bottom of the 7th, Danny Valencia gave the Twins a 2-1 lead with his second home run in as many days. In the bottom of the 8th, Michael Hollimon hit a long, 3-run homer into the wind that gave the Twins the 5-1 lead. (Hollimon is now 4-6 on the spring with ...
  3. Valencia Vaults Twins Past Pirates

It's no secret that the Twins have really struggled offensively to this point in spring training. That remained the case on Saturday when, in this sixth inning, the Twins were down 2-1 to the Pirates. Valencia stepped to the plate with two runners on and uncorked a long home run to give the Twins a 4-2 lead. The bullpen held the lead and the Twins got the win.

For Valencia, it was his first home of the spring. For the Twins, it was just their third spring home run (Chris Parmelee and ...
  4. Fantasy Perspectives: Minnesota Twins

One of my fantasy leagues started its draft this past week, so I thought it might be a good time to start writing a little about fantasy baseball. I will likely participate in three or four leagues this year, and each is a little bit different. One of my leagues is a keeper league with major and minor league rosters. It is a 5x5 roto league. Another league is a weekly head-to-head, points league. Another league is only on the weekend. Iím in one ten team league and two 14-team leagues. There are ...
  5. Organizational Depth Chart: The Third Basemen

Minnesota Twins Prospect Handbook 2012 Ė Now Available as an e-book for $6.99 by clicking here. You can, of course, still get the print version for $13.99 by clicking here.

We have looked at the catchers and the first basemen in the Twins organization the past two days. Today, Iíll be looking at the third basemen. Again, the purpose of this series is two-fold (if not more). First, itís a look at the depth at or near the big leagues. Second, itís a glance at the depth at the position ...
