  1. Twins Minor League Leader Board - Pitchers

Earlier today, I posted the Twins Minor League Leader Board for the hitters. Now comes the leader board among Twins minor league pitchers. Pitchers are more difficult to compare against each other. Comparing starting pitchers with relievers is really difficult. So, what I've done is set two limits for many of these categories. I used a 40 inning limit, and then I used an 80 innings limit. There have been a couple of starters who have pitched well and consistently in the minors this year. There have ...
  2. Tuesday Night Twins Minor League Report

Down 5-1 going through six innings, the Twins collected three unearned runs in the seventh inning. Cleveland’s All-Star closer Chris Perez came on and gave up three runs in the top of the 9th, two of them unearned. The Twins won 7-5 in unlikely fashion. Sam Deduno was back on the mound for the Twins. This time, he lasted just four innings and gave up four runs on five hits and five walks. He struck out three. Jeff Manship came on and gave up a run on two hits and two walks in his two innings. He ...
  3. Twins Minor League Starting Pitcher of the Month - June

As the Fourth of July is approaching, I have found myself asking several people, “What happened to June? It just flew by. He drove in four runs. Justin Morneau, Denard Span and Ben Revere each had two hits in the game, as the Twins beat the Cubs 11-3, and won for the ninth time in their last 11 games. Scott Diamond improved ...
  5. Minnesota Twins Top 50 Prospects (Part 1: 41-50)

It’s that time of year. The Major League Baseball first-year players’ draft starting in two weeks. That means that we need to get our pre-draft Top 50 Twins Prospects list out. I’ve always done this before the draft to take a look at where the organization is. Over the next week, we’ll look at my choices for the Top 50 Twins Prospects. People talk a lot about the Twins farm system being weak. Well, I do need to acknowledge that in the past I generally had no idea coming up with the top 30. This ...

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve pointed out the organizational depth charts for the Twins hitters. We’ve looked at catchers, 3B, 1B, Middle Infielders and Outfielders. Today, I’ll take a look at the starting pitchers. Now, especially as I move to the lower levels, I won’t pretend to know which players will move to ...
