  1. Clearing the Path

When the offseason began, most Twins fans had high hopes that the organization would finally dive into free agency and grab an upper-level starting pitcher. No one realistically expected the Twins to jump through hoops and go after Zach Greinke or Anibal Sanchez, especially after the market for starting pitching went crazy early. 2. 12 Questions With... Matthew Tomshaw

Matt Tomshaw was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 42nd round of the 2011 draft out of Jacksonville University. Upon signing, he went to the GCL, but soon he was used by the Ft. Myers Miracle. Impressively, he became the Miracleís best starter the last month of the season. Tomshaw is a 6-2, 200 pound left-hander who may not throw hard, but he knows how to pitch.

In 2012, he began the season in the Beloit bullpen. It wasnít long before he was in the rotation. He missed a month with ...

Good morning! Thanks as always for making Twins Daily part of your every day reading. Today I am going to return to the 12 Questions format with a fun interview with one of the Twins first-round picks in 2012, RHP Luke Bard. As you know, the Twins selected him out of Georgia Tech with the 42nd overall pick. He wasnít able to pitch much last year due to a couple of injuries, but he has a ton of talent, and as youíll read below, a pretty strong baseball pedigree in his family. He was kind enough ...

  13. Minnesota Twins Prospect Handbook 2013 NOW AVAILABLE

The Minnesota Twins Prospect Handbook 2013 is now available for $13.99. To high-level summarize, the handbook contains 191 pages of content on the Twins minor league system. You may be asking yourself, ďHow could one book possibly contain 191 pages on one teamís minor league system?Ē Iíve asked myself that question, wondering if itís too much. Hopefully below Iíll be able to show that there is a lot of value.

Taking a step back though, I have to say that it is shocking to me that this ...

31 years ago today, January 12, 1981, the Twins made a decision that altered the history of the organization. On that date, the Twins used the third overall pick in the January portion of the MLB Draft.

As you know, in June, players out of high school, junior college and those having finished three years at a four-year college are selected. However, from 1965 through 1986, there was also a draft in January for high school and college players who graduated in the Winter. Kirby Puckett ...
