  1. Twins Daily Top 10 Prospects: Recap

The Twins truly might have the most talent-laded farm system in all of baseball, so ranking and profiling our selections for the Top 10 prospects over the past couple weeks has been a lot of fun.

Today, we'll take a high-level look at that list as a whole and see what it tells us about the future of the franchise, both short-term and long-term.

First, here's a rundown of the TD Top 10, with links to each story:

  3. The Grapefruit Kings

There are two teams with winning records the last three seasons in the Grapefruit League. The Twins and Tigers. In fact, the Twins have the longest string of winning records and haven't had a losing season since 2007 thanks to the performance of players like Aaron Hicks, Luke Hughes, Cole DeVries and Matt Maloney.

    ... and it means nothing.

Spring training records and individual stat lines have no meaning. They shouldn't be used to argue that one player or ...
  4. Comping Florimons Bat

When I see the type of numbers Florimon ended up with last year I can't help but hope for a replacement. when I dig deeper I see he is not that far off from another long term SS who was at the time considered the fastest Twin and was near gold glove caliber. That SS was Greg Gagne. Gagne has a career batting average of .254 with averaging close to 10 HRs per season and 10-15 SBs too. while Florimon hit .221 with 9 HR and 15 SB. With just a little bit of improvement he could be a fine SS for ...
  5. 2014 Twins lineup and offensive expectation

    Pitchers and catchers report!

There are very few sweeter words in the English language. Time to roll out your Major League, Bull Durham and Field of Dreams DVD's (possibly For Love of the Game). Don't tell me I'm the only one!

I have no illusions of a World Series appearance for the TC boys this year. I think it's clear we are a year or two away. And while arguments could be made the Twins haven't done enough to address all of their short comings this offseason, there is ...
