  1. Gardy And Andy: Will They Stay Or Will They Go?

Terry Ryan has promised a quick decision on Ron Gardenhire, and presumably the rest of the coaching staff, very soon after the season ended. As soon as today, we could find out whether the Gardenhire-Anderson era is ending after a twelve year run.

  3. Twins Must Shake Loser Mentality This Offseason

A third consecutive season that has seen the Twins finish among the worst teams in baseball has understandably bred a sense of hopelessness amongst the fan base. Not necessarily long-term hopelessness -- most people understand that Minnesota boasts one of the best farm systems in the game, and that this assortment of high-profile prospects should eventually help usher a turnaround -- but certainly a feeling that contention is still a distant proposition.

It is for this reason ...

  4. Offseason plan for 2014

A lot of ink has been spilled on the abomination of a season that encompassed the Twins 2013 year, and there are certainly differences of opinions as to what should happen next. Looking at the season in the rear view mirror, there were some good things to come from it. The most notable was the emergence of Brian Dozier at 2nd. Behind that was a pen that far exceeded expectations, especially given how bad the starting rotation was.

The upcoming season is going to be an interesting ...

  5. Why are we listening to this?

That was my wife's question to me on Friday night as we drove to Culver's to use a buy one get one free coupon. We got the coupon at a ballgame this summer...a Saints game. Driving to Culver's to redeem it, listening to the Twins (a team that didn't even win me a scoop of ice cream this year) struggling against the Indians, it took me a second to think of an answer to that question.

    Then I did.

  6. Platoon Advantage

Two topics that appeared in the forums led me to wonder which teams are getting the platoon advantage.

How did the Indians do it? I look at their numbers and see a combined 6.1 WAR from Jan Gomes and Ryan Raburn. Those cheap additions will be the difference between contending for the wild card and being on the fringe. Francona has found a role for them to put up fantastic numbers.

We also debated about how platooning might help the Twins.

    I wondered how often ...

  7. No more room in the Twins Inn- Infield/Catcher

As AA Twins become AAA Twins, Room for AAAA players is becoming more scarce. With many 30 plus "prospects" called up this year, and several more failing to get called from Rochester, there will be many players released into oblivion this off season. Before even considering Free Agents (Please Ryan, Sign some Free Agents) If I was General Manager, I would have to make the following decisions:

ID:	5741With Joe Mauer’s season cut short due to brain trauma, now more than ever there is discussion to moving the franchise player out from behind the plate to a “safer” position in the infield.

TwinsDaily.com’s Nick Nelson shared his thoughts and explained in detail as to why the move makes sense for 2014. The crux of Nelson’s pitch is to protect the team’s best offensive player from missing extended time from additional concussions that have been plaguing backstops ...
  10. Some thoughts

As this season comes to an end, I look back at how the season played out. Sad to say, there was only one ray of light, and that was Brian Dozier. The kid worked hard over the off season, weathered a tough patch at the beginning of the season, and in my opinion, has captured second base for years to come. But still, I remain cautiously optimistic that the turnaround will stay for many years. Scott Diamond did nothing but regress, and in all reality, was probably never fully recovered from the injury ...

  11. Paul Molitor Talks Sano, Buxton, & the Organization Being Open to New Ideas

I'm not sure how much others in the organization are on the same page as Paul Molitor, but he is in the organization and a person gaining more and more influence.

He was interviewed on 1500espn Thursday.

    Bullet List:
    - Robinson Cano getting $305M
    - Dozier and Arcia are bright spots.
    - Dozier should hit around .270 when all said and done.
    - Twins Front Office being open to putting something exciting on the field, point blank, seeing if young players ...

Danny Valencia would look great in a suit, but he wouldn't get invited to the ceremony so we're kind of just back where we started, aren't we?

  13. Spidey's Successors

Now that the NFL has started, I hardly have the gumption to watch the Twins for more than a few innings. Let’s face it...it’s not the NFL’s fault at all. The Twins were horrible this year. It was a combination of stuff, and it was all bad stuff. I long for the days of Johan…
