  1. Tuesday Night Minor League Round-Up

    Scott Diamond and Liam Hendriks switched teams for their starts on Tuesday night and both players found success at their different levels. Liam Hendriks had struggled in his outings with the Twins so he was sent back down to Rochester. He didn't make it out of the sixth inning but he only gave up one earned run with eight strikeouts.

    Diamond found himself on the mound at Target Field with a team struggling to score runs. He put together an outstanding start as he lasted seven innings ...
  2. Monday's Minor League Round-up

    It was a week ago that Jered Weaver no-hit the Twins. That feat will not be repeated tonight.

    This is the minor league report so you won’t see Brian Dozier’s name below as he’s making his big-league debut at Target Field tonight. Congrats Brian!

    As you may have heard, Rochester and New Britain swapped OF Joe Benson for SS Pedro Florimon. This should help alleviate the logjam in the Red Wings outfield and hopefully help Benson get out of his current funk.

  3. Twins Minor League Notebook

    I was asked to be a guest on KFAN’s Baseball Weekly with Gleeman & The Geek on Sunday. I was on the second segment of the show and shared a Good, a Bad and an “Other” story. It was a fun segment and I encourage you to listen to the podcast, if you haven’t already.

    It was fun to do some research on each of those topics, and I thought that I would share some of that with you today. Obviously we could talk about Miguel Sano and Eddie Rosario, and that’s good, but we want to make sure ...
  4. Saturday in the Park

    The Twins got a Quality Start from Jason Marquis, but the bullpen struggled mightily and in the end, it was too much Felix Hernandez as the Mariners topped the Twins 7-0. The King went eight shutout innings against the Twins and allowed just one hit, a ground ball single between first and second base in the fourth inning.

    It was the third time in their last four games that the Twins have been shutout. Earlier in the day, the Twins did announce that Justin Morneau’s wrist was not getting ...
  5. Friday Night Lights (Wins, Sano and Speculation)

    The Twins return from a day off. However, they are still in the Pacific time zone, so that means some late games!! For those that didn’t stay up… shame on you (just kidding!), but you missed a good game. With Scott Ullger at the helm, Carl Pavano was caught by Drew Butera, and Pavano responded with six shutout innings. Mariners’ lefty Jason Vargas also held the Twins scoreless through six. The Twins got to the M’s bullpen for three runs in the top of the 7th, thanks to a couple of walks, an error ...
  6. Friday Links-N-Thinks

    Boy did it feel good to have a day to recover on Thursday after watching the Twins get no-hit by Jared Weaver on Wednesday night. This performance came on the heels of the Twins putting together a lack luster performance against Jerome Williams on Tuesday night. All together the Twins have been held hitless in 15 straight innings and now their focus will turn to the Seattle Mariners.

    The Twins record sits at 6-18, ...
  7. Twins Minor League Hitter of the Month - April

    Earlier this week, I handed out the “awards” for Twins minor league relief pitcher and starting pitcher of April. In each case, I was able to profile six pitchers and there were good numbers. Today, I am going to profile five Twins minor league hitters who had solid Aprils. Unlike with the pitchers, it was really tough to come up with hitters. If I’m being honest, it was a two-player race for the April Hitter of the Month. And, today, when the Twins have an off day after being shut out two straight ...
  8. What will the hype be like for Sano's debut?

    Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    One of the most hyped debuts in MLB history took place over the weekend with Bryce Harper being penciled in to the Washington Nationals line-up for the first time as a 19-year old phenom. His first game looked like it was going to play out perfectly but Matt Kemp's walk-off home run in extra innings spoiled the coming ...
  9. Friday Links-N-Thinks
    Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Since the last time you joined me for an edition of "Friday Links-N-Thinks," the Twins have only one one game and that was on last Friday. It has been a rough week for Twins fans as the team looked to get back on track against the struggling Red Sox. This didn't happen but the one consolation prize is the fact that the Royals come to town this weekend and they have their own share of problems to deal with this season. Hopefully ...
  10. Thursday Night Minor League Lights

    The Twins had a much-needed day off on Thursday. Players were able to stay at home (or in their hotel room, or wherever they’re staying), and get some things done… hopefully that included getting some rest. The team will start a series against the Royals at home on Friday night. Hopefully the Twins bats can tee off against lefty Everett Teaford!

    Here is a look at the Twins minor league scores and highlights from Thursday:

    GAME 1 - ROCHESTER 4, SYRACUSE 5 (8 innings)

  11. Tracking the Twins Top Prospects

    Over 60 Twins minor leaguers were adopted in yesterday's Twins Adopt-a-Propsect. If you are interested, you can still adopt a Twins prospect by clicking here and selecting a Twins minor leaguer. There is a huge interest in the Twins minor league system, and for good reason. Although you may read or hear that the Twins farm system is struggling and middle-of-the-pack, that certainly does not mean that there are not people worth tracking.

    That's what we'll do here today. In each of the ...
  12. Monday Night in the Minors

    As I type this, the Twins and the Red Sox are sitting at 5-5 in the 7th inning. Who knows how long that game will go. All three Twins minor league games were in the Eastern time zone, so those games are all complete.

    Here is a look at the Twins minor league scores and highlights from Sunday:

    ROCHESTER RED WINGS

    Rochester residents were the recipient of three inches of snow when they woke up on Monday morning. Fortunately, the Red Wings did not have a scheduled ...
  13. Saturday Night in the Park (Game Notes)

    It was a terrific pitcher’s dual through five-and-a-half innings. In fact, Carl Pavano was one out from getting out of the bottom of the 6th inning. Then came a blooper and an error. The Rays had a 3-0 lead, made it 4-0 later, and despite a late run for the Twins, they fell 4-1 to the Rays. In reality, after the Rays got the lead, thing were not pretty for the Twins. Jamey Carroll committed his first error. Danny Valencia misplayed a ground ball. Jeff Gray inexplicably did not allow a run in the ...
  14. Friday Night Game Notes (Twins Win and Sano Shines!)

    The Twins improved to 5-9 with a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Denard Span, Jamey Carroll and Joe Mauer each had two hits, but it was again Josh Willingham who played hero in this game. With the Twins down 4-2 in the 7th, the bases were loaded with two outs and Willingham came to the plate. With two strikes, Willingham drilled a opposite-field doubles to drive in three and give the Twins the lead. It extended his hitting streak to 14 games. Matt Maloney, Jared Burton, Brian ...
