The Carew Era - When I was a young baseball fan

When I first tuned the radio to the Twins in the 70's it was Rod Carew. Rodney made a big impression, he was fast, smooth and graceful. He even made ...

  2. (Twins at White Sox -- Games 149-151

Cool Breeze, Eyes Closed (Twins 1 White Sox 12 - Game 149)

After getting our house Halloween ready the night before, I came home to a perfectly decorated house. The smell of fall blew through the windows and hung in the air.

It covered the stench of what Liam Hendriks was doing on the mound in Chicago. The Great Dane agreed with me.

If anyone's excited to see the Twins lose, it's Stella the Great Dane. She was traumatized when I jumped up and stomped around ...
  3. End of Twins, Beginning of Baseball (Twins vs. Indians 92-94)

    No More All-Star Moments (Twins 3 Indians 2 Ė Game 92)

This is the story of the 2013 Twins, and thereís really not a whole lot left to cover in these remaining games. True believers will hold out for a miracle, a string of victories, and playoff glory. I love all things TC, but I canít believe in this campfire tale.

If it happens, Iíll jump on the bandwagon and stand in the parade like I always belonged there.

The Twins came out of the All-Star Break plucky, ...

ID:	2310Ron Gardenhire told reporters over the weekend that he would have "no problem" with Glen Perkins assuming closer duties for his club moving forward.

    Well, you'd hope not.

Since Matt Capps was officially placed on the disabled list on July 17, Perkins has received the lion's share of save chances, converting all seven of his opportunities while registering a 1.74 ERA and holding opponents to a .136 batting average. In 20 2/3 innings during that ...

  5. Solid first win for the Twins

Feels good to get that first win under our belt.

Solid outing for the Twins. It wasn't perfect, but we all know this isn't a team that going to be perfect. Pavano was good, but not great. Worst inning for him was the 5th when Bourjos got the inside-the-park home run. Willingham couldn't make the play. His defense isn't the best, and Revere might have made that catch. If Willingham continues to crush the ball, missing a catch or two doesn't matter.

    Huge games for Carroll ...

  7. What to Watch in 2012: Perkins' Slider

As we count down the days until pitchers and catchers report to Ft. Myers, I'm going to run a series of columns this week detailing some of the less high-profile story lines worth following in the 2012 season. We've heard plenty about the redemption quests of Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Denard Span and Francisco Liriano; in the coming days I'll be examining some other factors that could significantly impact the 2012 season. Today, I look at the pitch that turned around an embattled southpaw's ...
