  1. Twins Minor League Report (5/20): Pitching - FAIL.

    by , 05-20-2013 at 09:22 PM
A couple of feel-good notes from earlier today:

Minnesota native and former St. Paul Saint, LRP Caleb Thielbar was recalled and will take the roster spot of LP Pedro Hernandez. He was impressive in his big-league debut as well. (The TwinsDaily Roster & Payroll page has been updated to reflect this move as well as all the others that have occurred.)

Chris Colabello was named IL Player of the Week for last week when he batted .586 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI. Rob Antony ...
  2. Twins Minor League Report (5/13): The Return of the 'Stache.

    by , 05-13-2013 at 09:48 PM
Every affiliate was involved in a transaction today.

The Red Wings placed P Liam Hendriks on the DL with right elbow inflammation. OF Antoan Richardson will take his place.

The RockCats, losing Richardson to Rochester, get Deibinson Romero, who finally arrived in the States and is ready to play baseball.

The Miracle activated OF Nate “That Pitch Hit Me” Roberts and sent INF Joel Licon back across the street.

The Kernels add C Michael Quesada, ...
  3. Twins Minor League Report (5/2): Michael Walks Off

    by , 05-02-2013 at 10:12 PM
If you missed Cody's minor league report from yesterday, you can read it here. Seth also made his choice for Twins minor league Hitter of the Month. Andrew wrote up about Alex Meyer's last start.

There is a lot of draft info that cmb0252 put together into one thread.

And after yesterday's minor shuffle in Rochester, the R&P page has been updated as well.

On a separate note, after listening to the new Macklemore song "Can't Hold Us" a few times today, I'm ...

  4. Twins Minor League Report (4/29): The Bats are ALIVE!

    by , 04-29-2013 at 10:24 PM
The Twins blew a three-run lead thanks to one swing of Prince Fielder's bat and lost another one-run game. (The third time that's happened in the past five days.)

Congratulations to Adam Walker, who was named MWL Player of the Week. The Milwaukee native went 8-for-21 (.381) with five home runs and 16 RBI. His OPS for the week was 1.238.

It was quite an adventurous day on the farm today. You should continue reading, but not before I warn you: The Twins are a few years ...
  5. My Top 50 (plus 1) Twins Prospects - August 1 Edition

    by , 08-01-2012 at 12:05 AM
One of my favorite days of the year is the day I open my mailbox and see a cardboard box just big enough to hold the Baseball America Prospect Handbook. The first thing I do is read each of the 30 capsules about the Twins prospects. Then I proceed to read each of the other 870 reports in the book, usually a few times.

This year they added a new feature: the BA Grade along with the Risk Factor. Essentially, it makes it possible to compare all 900 prospects. If you want a general ...
  6. Dueling Bloggers: Draft Debate (Part 1)

    by , 05-24-2012 at 12:08 PM
As you probably know, the MLB Draft will be taking place in just a little over a week. There is a lot of draft-related material scattered all over this very website. Among them are a handful of Draft Previews that I've written. Recently, there was a lengthy thread started by "cmb0252" which is all about the draft.

What follows is a tag team effort between myself and "cmb0252" (I'm not sure if he's ready to introduce himself to the world yet), which took place over the last couple of ...
