A couple days ago I presented the second to fifth round picks for the Twins in this mock draft, and now I am concluding with picks from the 6th to the 12 round.

As I indicated in the first pick presentation, like every single other mock drafts out there, unless ...

After flirting with .500 through six weeks, the Twins now have the second worst record in the American League. The Twins are 11th in runs scored and 11th in runs allowed. Bad combo, bro. The dream has died, as this team doesn't appear to have the talent to hover at .500 for a full season.

Right-hander George Dana O’Donnell did not pitch for the Twins, but he was in their farm system briefly in 1961. He was born in Winchester, Illinois and signed with the St. Louis Browns as a free agent in 1949. His career shows how the minors have changed over the years. He pitched well for two seasons in Class D for the Browns, ...

On the best Minnesota Twins podcast, Aaron and John talk about the Twins' free fall, options for the No. 4 pick in the draft with Twins Daily's Jeremy Nygaard, a ton of roster changes including losing Joe Benson, sending down Oswaldo Arcia, not calling up Kyle Gibson, what happened to Justin Morneau's power, Chris Parmelee in center field, leveraging Glen Perkins, a WHOLE lot more about the draft and meeting listeners at the Apple Store. 10 Pins Fall Down (Game 44)

I asked the score if I should watch the Twins game. The score said no, and I had no regrets about spending some time with my wife, my friend, and an awful movie called The Greenskeeper.

The formerly infamous John Rocker, pitcher, played the killer.

    It’s on Netflix.

In the ninth inning, we watched our phones to make sure the Twins avoided getting no-hit.

  6. Twins Minor League Report (5/26): Arcia Hurt

by , 05-26-2013 at 05:27 PM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
After ending their 11 game losing streak on Saturday, the Twins couldn't make it two wins in a row. The Tigers offense pounced on Mike Pelfrey for five runs on five hits in less than six innings of work. The offense didn't help him out much with three hits and a single run on the board.

There were a few different story lines to follow in the minors so let's see what went down!

  7. Twins Top Prospects

    by , 05-26-2013 at 04:35 PM
Here are my rankings for the players in the Twins minor league system. Talent and positional value are the biggest factors, while age and league are minor factors. In addition, draft position and size also have some impact. Normally I'd like to use 50, but after 35 I didn't think there were enough worthy of even being considered a prospect. Recently departed Joe Benson is off and so is Aaron Hicks after reaching the 130 AB benchmark. Hope you enjoy and possibly learn a new name!

  8. Ramirez to 7-Day DL, Herrmann recalled

    by , 05-26-2013 at 03:53 PM (SethSpeaks.net)
The Twins announced following the Sunday afternoon game in Detroit that outfielder Wilkin Ramirez would be put on the 7-Day Disabled List, a result of his collision in left centerfield on Saturday afternoon. As a result, the Twins have also announced that catcher-outfielder Chris Herrmann has been promoted to the big league club.

Herrmann has struggled in his transition to AAA. Through 38 games, he has hit .238/.311/.285 (.589) with five doubles and a triple. Although he has primarily ...

  9. Draft Board v.4.0 (5/22)

    by , 05-26-2013 at 02:00 PM
IT’S LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY! Are you excited?

Version 4.0 of my “small board” posted as I am about to go on KFAN with John and Aaron to talk about… you guessed it… the MLB Draft.

A quick reminder: The Twins first pick (fourth overall) has a draft slot value of just around $4.5 million.

Though it should be pointed out – as I do each month – that the Twins very rarely deviate from the norm: In the last 20 years, the Twins have had 24 1st round draft picks ...

    Chris Latham (1973)
    Kevin Mulvey (1985)

Outfielder/first baseman Joseph Salvatore Altobelli played for the Twins for about two months in 1961. Born and raised in Detroit, Altobelli signed with Cleveland as a free agent in 1951. He had decent but unspectacular numbers in the minors, but he certainly was there a long time; Joe Altobelli played all or part of thirteen seasons at AAA. The best of those seasons were

  11. Twins Minor League Report (5/25): Gibson's Latest Pitch

    by , 05-26-2013 at 12:02 AM (SethSpeaks.net)
There were several stories to follow with the Twins minor league teams on Saturday. Kyle Gibson was back on the mound, looking to put together back-to-back good starts for the first time this season. How did he do? New Britain finished a suspended game and played a second game. Matt Summers was terrific in Ft. Myers. Jorge Polanco was very good and JO Berrios was back on the mound for the Kernels.

The big news of the night was that DJ Baxendale has been promoted to New Britain. Baxendale ...

  12. All the Right Moves?

    by , 05-25-2013 at 11:27 PM
After a period of stability, the Twins have made a rash of moves. Many of the moves have been panned by the denizens of Twins Daily for being shortsighted, cheap, stupid or all of the above. Some are calling out the GM for saying the team was trying to compete when, in fact, they are rebuilding and focusing on next year or the year after.

News flash! The team isn't going to contend this year. Ryan's "contention" talk was predicated on miraculous performances by pitchers ...

I was confused, but I knew this was an option. The Twins needed a 40-man spot for the immortal P.J. Walters, and Benson has been injured or terrible ever since his 2011 September call-up. Even in earning his 2011 promotion, he had ...
