    Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan
    In preparation for next week's MLB First Year Player Draft, I have put together some short draft capsules to look at the prospects the Twins have taken with their early round picks in recent memory. In the coming days, I will release these list with some short profiles on what the players have done since joining the organization. Selecting the right players in the draft can separate a winning club from a losing club so it is important to know what

  4. Minnesota Twins Top Ten Prospects

    by , 05-30-2012 at 05:55 AM (SethSpeaks.net)
    A week ago, we started to take a look at my Top 50 Twins Prospects. Within the last week, we looked at prospects 11-20, prospects 21-30, prospects 31-40, and prospects 41 through 50. The general belief is that the Twins farm system is pretty weak and sadly, from doing this exercise, I find it hard to disagree. However, to say that it is bad and completely void of talent is also not true at all. Within this top ten, there is a lot of talent. There are still plenty of question marks due to age and ...
  5. Potential

    by , 05-29-2012 at 11:37 PM
    Every year I look at the Twins and say, "they have potential." I don't believe that I'm alone in this either. This season I felt that Pavano could potentially be a workhorse with an era around 3.90 and play the part of a veteran leader. Baker would finally be over his arm issues and be somewhat of an ace. Liriano would lighten up and dominate again. Blackburn would be able to be average and hold down a spot in the rotation. Hendriks would win a job over marquis and look rather steady ...

  6. Tommy Watkins Headlines SethSpeaks Weekly Twins Podcast

    by , 05-29-2012 at 10:49 PM (SethSpeaks.net)
    Tommy Watkins has been in the Twins organization since 1998 when he was the team's 38th round draft pick of the Twins. He spent two seasons in the Gulf Coast League, one year in Elizabethton and one year in Quad Cities. He spent two years playing for his hometown Ft. Myers Miracle. After two-and-a-half seasons with New Britain, he was promoted to Rochester. He spent three-and-a-half seasons there before retiring. However, in late 2007, all the time and all the work paid off when he was called into ...
  7. Tuesday's Trip through the Minors

    by , 05-29-2012 at 09:31 PM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
    Less than a week ago, the thought of pitching at Target Field had to be far from the mind of Cole DeVries. But on Tuesday evening, DeVries found himself making his home debut in front of a crowd full of family and friends. It can be nerve racking to pitch in front of the home crowd for the first time and it had to be even harder for the Minnesota native to be throwing so close to where he grew up.

    Throughout the contest, DeVries worked himself into some jams by walking batters but ...
  8. Traveling in the Midwest League: Kane County

    by , 05-29-2012 at 03:18 PM
    It seems like yesterday I was playing for a 12 year old in house championship. Baseball has taken me from the grass backyards of Minnetonka to either coast and a number of places in between. There are moments I will never forget, there are others I would rather forget. Each day baseball teaches me more and more about myself.

    The game recently took me to Kane County for a 4 game series against the Kansas City affiliate. Here is my recap:

    Memorial day weekend is an important ...

To this respect, I am presenting profiles of the top 22 pitching prospects for the 2012 MLB draft.

    I will be presenting these alphabetically, and at the end I will rank them. I will be ...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. It is great to start the week off on a Tuesday and it will only make the rest of the week go that much faster. Since I work in the local school system, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel that is the school year.
    As has become a weekly happening around here, I will post a few tidbits in the morning to hold readers over until I write the minor ...
    • This is great evidence to reinforce my position to a. not believe in "mock drafts" and b. not attempt one. That mock draft had the Twins not taking a P until their 6th pick (3rd round) and taking 3 catchers with their first 4 picks. The chance of this happening is smaller than me winning the lottery (and
  13. Finding A Home For Justin Morneau
    by , 05-28-2012 at 10:45 PM (TwinsGeek.com)
    I don’t want to trade Justin Morneau. I don’t want to be rational about it. I want to clutch onto his comeback, keep it for my own, gaze at it among the dreck that this (and probably next) season has become. I’ve waited for this, I’ve craved it, and dammit, now I want it.
    We’ll see if I feel the same way in a couple of months, because that’s when the decision will need to be made. For there to be a decision, Morneau needs stay healthy, and he needs show the same kind of production ...
