This post was originally posted at http://troystwinsdugout.wordpress.co...-clete-thomas/ Earlier today, the Twins announced that they've claimed Clete Thomas from the Detroit Tigers. To make room on the 25 man roster, the Twins optioned Ben Revere to AAA Rochester after the Twins 6-2 loss to Texas. Thomas will replace Revere as the fourth outfielder and provide some speed on the basepaths off the bench. In 593 minor league games, Thomas has a batting ...
Minnesota Twins 2012 Season Day-by-Day ...
For a random Saturday in April, there sure was an awful lot that seemed to happen. Most of these topics have been touched on at Twins Daily, but I'm just going to (briefly) condense them. This morning we learned that OF Darin Mastroianni was promoted from New Britain to Rochester. Not exactly headline news, but Twins news nonetheless. Before today's game against Rangers P Yu Darvish (news in itself), the Twins unveiled a statue outside of Gate 14 of Kent Hrbek. ...

The Twins lost for the second straight game to the Texas Rangers on Saturday. The story of the game was all of the runners stranded on bases, but it was a day full of stories for the Twins. The Yu Darvish Show made its first appearance at Target Field, and the right-hander from Japan didn’t disappoint. He showed all seven of his pitches and did a nice job of working out of some tough situations. Just before the game started, it came out that the Twins had claimed Clete Thomas, an outfielder ...

He will take Scott Baker's 40-man roster spot and a corresponding move (either demoting Ben Revere who has options or waiving ineffective ...

Twins lose in a cold, misty game against the top team in the AL West. Minor League teams go 2-2 with no big standouts. Here is today's summary: Minnesota Twins 2012 Season Day-by-Day ...
The Twins two-game winning streak came to an end on Friday night with a 4-1 loss at the hands of lefty Matt Harrison and the Texas Rangers. Anthony Swarzak gave up four runs in seven innings. He was seeing-eye-singled to death in the 4th when the Rangers started swinging at Swarzak’s first pitch and scored three times. Ian Kinsler added a little insurance with a solo home in the 7th. For the first time this season, the Twins scored first in this game. Josh Willingham scored on a screaming liner ...

My stock minor league picture until I make it to another Rock Cats game next week [Originally published at Twins Fan From Afar] Just a quick note tonight. The Rock Cats continued ...
Man what a difference two games can make!!! Difference in one thing, and about 1 thing only, that is hitting. 20 hits, Morneau/Mauer hit a homerun in the same game, not to mention Willingham continues banging the ball over the fence. Baseball is fun!! Minnesota Twins couldn't hit the ball in the first 3 games, they couldn't play defense, they couldn't pitch, nothing was right, they start the season 0-4. One thing has gotten better, hitting. We all knew based on numbers that was going to be ...
Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire needs to put Josh Willingham at clean-up. This would: • Put Willingham between Mauer and Morneau. • That would protect Willingham better, as he is the hottest Twin right now. • It would separate the team's two best left-handed batters with a strong right-handed batter. • It would make it harder for opposing teams later in a game to bring in one pitcher to face Mauer and Moneau, and another to face Willingham. ...
Well that was fun. I choose to believe the Twins have started winning because I have started blogging. I'd like to hear a better explanation. Honestly though, even though I was stuck working that was a very fun game to listen to on the radio. It sounded like the crowd was way into it and I have to assume the boys were too. Capps did raise my blood pressure a little but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. And believe me blowing that one may have killed the Twins. Let's ...
Originally published at The Tenth Inning Stretch --- The Twins are 2-4 in this early season, after being swept in their first series at Baltimore and winning the series against one of the AL darlings, the LA Angels at the home opener at Target Field, 2-1. This series win is very hopeful, because if they Twins win 60-70% of their series, they will be in the post-season. They stand at 50% right now and winning the Rangers' series, will put them at 66%, which is right on course. ...
After starting the season 0-4, the Twins won their last two games and scored a combined 16 runs, games started by Jered Weaver and Dan Haren. It was a full night in the Twins minor league system as well. For much more information on many Twins minor leaguers, be sure to listen to last night’s Twins Minor League Weekly podcast. ROCHESTER 1, PAWTUCKET 10 This was a very close game most of the way, but it got out of hand in a hurry. Daryl Thompson started and gave up two ...
