  1. Ryan thinks Dozier was rushed in '12

    Article: Parmelee's Promising Power-brian-dozier-minnesota-twins.jpg
TwinsFest is one of the most fun weekends for fans of the Minnesota Twins and this past weekend was no different. There is excitement building for the new season, fans can gather to talk about their passion, and the players are happy to interact with fans of all ages.

During the last couple of years, one of my favorite parts of the weekend has been the fan question and answer session with Terry Ryan, Jim Pohlad, and Dave St. Peter. It offers fans ...
  2. Twins Christmas Greatest Hits

by , 12-24-2012 at 09:07 AM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
This will mark the third Christmas since NoDak Twins Fan was started back in 2010. Every year I have put together a post that related a famous Christmas story or tale to the Twins. This year was a little different as I took the famous song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and gave it a very Minnesota Twins feel.

It has been fun to put these posts together over the last couple of years so I thought it would be great to do a "Greatest Hits" post. This is in case you have only recently ...
  3. Twins must end revolving door at shortstop

by , 11-27-2012 at 06:52 AM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
Why Is Everyone So Worried About Willingham In Right Field?-twinsrevolvingdoor.jpg
It has been a continuous quest for the Twins to solidify their options up the middle. In recent seasons, it has seemed like a revolving door at some key positions on the field and this hasn't been beneficial to the club. One of the most problematic areas for the Twins in recent memory has been their search for a shortstop that could fit into their long-term plans. This search continues and it's hard to see an end in sight.

In the last decade, the ...

Aaron and John talk about the Twins' lack of activity compared to last offseason, Denard Span and Josh Willingham trade scenarios, 40-man roster additions, prospect lists and the men who love them, Tsuyoshi Nishioka getting a raise back in Japan, Brett Myers rumors, avoiding Jeremy Guthrie, and the joys of Thanksgiving.

It's playoff baseball time and for the first time in the history of the game there will be a play-in game between the two wild card teams in each league. The Twins missed out on postseason play for the second year in a row but there are plenty of other story lines to watch in the coming weeks.

  6. Tsuyoshi Nishioka was a "Candle in the Wind"

by , 10-01-2012 at 06:59 AM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
The following song is dedicated to former Twins middle infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka as he exits the United States and heads back to resume his career in Japan. The tune of the song is "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John. Enjoy!

    Goodbye Tsuyoshi
Though we hardly knew you at all
You had the grace to leave the Twins
Back to Japan is where you crawled
    Two seasons have gone by
And it was a disaster from the start

"I love having him at shortstop."- Ron Gardenhire, 9/16/12, The Ron Gardenhire Show

It didn't take very long for Brian Dozier to fall out of the good graces with the Minnesota Twins. The team gave him plenty of opportunities to showcase his talents as the shortstop of the future for the organization but he was unimpressive during his rookie campaign. This has left the door open for another player to step-in and get most of the reps at shortstop during ...
  9. Rooting for Nick & Tsuyoshi

by , 08-22-2012 at 03:34 PM (Peanuts from Heaven)
(Apologies for the gap between posts, school is coming quickly and I'll be splitting time between writing lesson plans and writing baseball blogs...probably a little more time on lesson plans)

Clearly things have changed in the Twins dugout of late, much to the glee of many fans (not to mention the blogging community). Nick Blackburn is gone and it will take some finagling to get him back up again, experience be damned. Gone too is every last drop of hopeful expectation ...
  10. Monday in the Minors

    by , 08-21-2012 at 03:09 AM (SethSpeaks.net)
The Twins got big offense from their nine through four hitters and came away with a nice 7-1 win over the Oakland A’s, one of baseball’s hottest teams. Of course, the biggest story was the performance of Brian Duensing. The lefty gave up two runs (1 earned) in six innings. He gave up five hits, walked one and struck out seven. Quite the improvement over his mid-July start against the A’s when he gave up six runs on seven hits (3 HR) in just two innings. Casey Fien pitched two scoreless innings in ...
  11. Friday Night Minor League Lights

    by , 08-18-2012 at 12:08 AM (SethSpeaks.net)
The Twins fell behind the Mariners early thanks to some more bad pitching by Nick Blackburn. John Jaso hit a two-run homer in the first inning, and Miguel Olivo hit a hanging curveball. The Twins’ bats didn’t do much early either. After Felix Hernandez’s perfect game on Thursday, Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma was perfect through the first four innings. In the fifth frame, Justin Morneau led off with a double. A couple of batters later, Matt Carson came up and singled in Morneau to put the Twins ...
  12. What's the next step for Brian Dozier?

by , 08-16-2012 at 07:50 AM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
Word came out of the Twins organization on Tuesday night that Brian Dozier was going to be sent back to Triple-A Rochester after what has been a disappointing rookie campaign. There had been rumors of this happening for weeks but the timing seems strange since MLB rosters expand at the end of the month and there is only a few weeks left in the ...
  13. Friday Links-N-Thinks

by , 08-10-2012 at 10:14 AM (North Dakota Twins Fan)
The Twins seem to have found a nice little grove over the course of the last week. In their six games since last weekend's edition of "Friday Links-N-Thinks," the Twins have posted a respectable 4-2 record with plenty of offense along the way. Jamey Carroll, Justin Morneau, and Ryan Doumit all hit over .400 in the last week and Morneau, Doumit, and Josh Willingham each had multiple home runs during that span. Ben Revere saw his hitting streak reach 21-games before he was held hitless against Cleveland ...
  14. Can Nishi be a Major League Baseball player?

The obvious answer is yes, because he is right now. Sorry, but someone had to make the smart remark to the question so I am just beating them to it. To answer the real question lets take a look at some numbers to support each side of the question, and
