• Series Preview: Twins @ White Sox, 4/19

After having two games postponed and a scheduled day off in the last week, the Twins look to pick up where they left off against the Angels and carry their two game winning streak into US Cellular Field to face their division rival, the Chicago White Sox.

Joe Mauer was on fire against the struggling Angels, collecting eight hits in the two game series. He hopes to continue pushing his batting average toward .400 and has already collected two home runs in this young season.

Vance Worley, on the other hand, has struggled mightily with the Twins early in the 2013 campaign. Worley, a trade pickup from Philadelphia in the offseason, looks to get on track and lower his ugly 10.30 ERA and restore our faith in his ability to get batters out.

Not that I think they should have cancelled, because I don't ... but sitting in either stadium in Chicago this time of year with any kind of wind is colder than sitting in Minnesota this time of year. The wind off the lake goes to the bone. It's f-ing cold ... snow or no snow.

Usually I just fall back on "because I don't want to," but I got hit unusually hard with the guilt trip this time.

To top it off I closed a car door on my finger when I got home. Thankfully the copious amounts of liquor dulled the pain.

FOX game = no Hawk, right? Of course that could just mean an afternoon of Mitch Williams.

No sure what to hope for.

Who leads the Twins in home runs after this series? Does Arcia have more hits than Hicks when the series is over? Do the Twins get at least one win and stay ahead of the Sox in the standings? Do the Twins get two wins and leave Chicago with a winning record?

Here are my predictions--Parmelee goes deep twice and takes the team lead in HRs or at least a share. Arcia gets three hits in two games and Hicks only gets one, so Arcia will have four and Hicks three. The Twins split the series and leave Chicago with a 7-8 record. Bonus prediction: Vanimal will be much better, but get a loss today.

This has been a strange thread. I like what stringer bell is laying down. I'm just hoping that I will see something from Worley that will help me understand the Revere trade.

Is there an opening in Verve's basement? If not, where will this supposed time-out take place?

I am stuck at the office and the game is not making it to California today anyway, so I will have to "watch" it on cbssportsline.com. If those of you who can watch the game can post as much detail as possible, I will be grateful to you.

I can't speak for what reception he had in Los Angeles, but I saw how the crowd at Target Field responded to him when he came back here - I was at a couple of those games. He was greeted just fine, all that you could reasonably expect, and more.

Think of it as recycling, which will reduce energy consumption, resulting in less climate change and therefore fewer games postponed due to weather, or something.
