• Series Preview: Twins vs. Rangers, 4/25

One might say this is the first real test of the Twins pitching staff. The Texas Rangers, co-owners of the American League's best record at 14-7, are coming to town and the weather is finally going to warm up in the Twin Cities. Until this point, the Twins have played nearly every game of the season in horrible weather, with game-time temperatures sitting in the 30s but over the weekend, we can expect several 60 degree game starts.

How will the Twins' pitching staff hold up against the potent Rangers offense? This series could be a test of whether the Twins, sitting at 9-8 and just half a game out of first place in the American League Central, are marginal contenders in a weak division or pretenders who have received more than their fair share of luck early in the season, going 5-0 in one run games thus far in 2013.

One glimmer of hope for the Twins is that they're sending some of their best pitchers to the mound in the series: Kevin Correia, de facto 2013 ace, Vance Worley, coming off a solid start against the White Sox, and Scott Diamond, de facto 2012 ace. No matter how you look at it, this should be a tough series for the Twins.

Son I'd like you to play Tackle for our offense.
Offense? Tackle? Do we fumble a lot?
Not a sexy draft so far, but sometimes that's where you build a championship.

Guess the strategy, again, is not to pitch to the bottom of the strike zone.... (shakes head)

If I was an NFL GM... Offensive and Defensive Line would be focus #1... A QB with time can look like Pro Bowler.

That was Doziers Fault... He hesitated... He should have been there.

Six fouls and counting. Where's the out pitch?

51 pitches in two innings. I'm starting to believe that Worley won't throw a complete game today.

ROTFLMAO... His picture looks even worse cropped like that. It's like The Wizard is slowly turning him into the cowardly lion.

It also looks like Pitching is really painful for him yet he seems to oddly enjoy the pain.

      The sun did not shine.
      Too snowy to play.
So we sat in the clubhouse
All that cold, cold, wet day

      I sat there with Mauersie.
      We sat there, we two.
And I said "How I wish
      We could DFA Drew!"
