• Series Preview: Twins @ Red Sox, 5/6

The Twins continue their difficult road trip this week by heading to Boston to face one of baseball's hottest teams and co-owners of the best record in MLB. The Red Sox, 20-11 through their first 31 games, have surprised much of baseball by jumping to the front of the tough AL East division and staying there for the month of April.

Boston has stayed atop the division with a balanced approach: at .784, they are second in the AL in OPS while their pitching staff has a 3.62 ERA, good for fifth in the league.

The Twins, already just 2-4 on this road trip, now have to enter Fenway Park in a four game set in an attempt to salvage the road trip and get back to Minnesota with a .500 record. It won't be an easy task.

Fortunately Mauersie broke the streak of strikeouts with a clutch groundout to first.

So far... Taking arm out of the equation. Revere is a 10. Span is an 8. Hicks is a 5.

I certainly agree John. He's got the skill set to be an excellent CF, but he has misjudged far too many balls and struggled with the wind. He's got a fine arm and good range, but he hasn't gotten good jumps on a lot of balls. I'm confident he'll do well in the field, but it may not be this year.

I actually wasn't that disappointed in the Arcia AB. Didn't like the swing on 2-0 at a pitch in the dirt--but I agree with Brian that I have no problem with him looking for a pitch to hit on 2-0--and I was more disappointed at him swinging at ball 4 in his eyes. I simply meant that's how a lot of baseball games get decided. A key moment in the game, even though it's the top of the 1st. If Arcia wins that battle, the game might be all but over. If Buchholz wins the battle, the game is still very much in doubt, and there'll likely be another, similar AB somewhere in the game where a Boston hitter will have a similar chance.

Former Politician? Jeez Glunn... Previous to that knowledge I would have trusted you with anything.

Now... I think you are just a good soul because it'll give you a 2 point bump in the polls.

If one of your co-workers has a tragic accident with a forklift or meat grinder or Windows crash, and the ticket is going begging, drop me a line.

Ditto that. I can just picture her standing over my unconscience body with a broken beer bottle in her hand and a snarl on her face.

I have made it a lifelong goal never to get involved with any woman who can kick my ass. "Hey pal...you're not done yet."

On a cheerier note, Bucholtz just hit 60 pitches already.

Yeah, four more innings of strikeouts and he's toast.
