  • Series Preview: Twins vs Red Sox, 5/17-5/19

The Twins starting pitching looked to be a problem going into the season and after several weeks of surprisingly good performances by several members of the rotation, we're starting to see regression by several key pitchers as the team ERA begins to bloat.

Thankfully, the Twins had an off day to regroup after being shelled by the White Sox and losing two of three at Target Field earlier in the week.

On the upside, the Twins offense has been humming along quite nicely, with Justin Morneau leading the charge with a 1.159 OPS and seven RBI over his past six games. Joe Mauer has also gone completely bonkers over that span of time, posting a 1.425 OPS. M&M boys, indeed.

True or false, Parmelee will hit above .270 for his career.

They need to play the theme from The Natural next time Florimon comes up. For Buxton, all the time.

Haha, fair enough. I understand your sentiments. I think they'll handle him well either way

Anybody else think Morneau needs to shave that thing?

If we played the shift on Ortiz, like, I don't know, 28 major league teams do, that's a routine out.

I didn't like that movie - they changed the ending from the book.

No way! I absolutely love it. Would it look better on someone with darker hair? Yeah, probably. Still, I appreciate few things more than a man's mustache

This has been said before, but I think the hand wringing over Parmelee's defense has proven to be unwarranted.

I continue to have zero concerns about Parmelee in the outfield... Not one... No concerns about range, arm or glove.

The Natural jumped the shark when the lights turned into fireworks or fire flies or something.

Hit one into the lights... Shards of glass may fall and a single bulb will go dark.

According to Twins' GM Rob Antony, Rich Harden's rehab has been "slow" and "not very well to be honest".

Harden felt soreness in his surgically-repaired shoulder while throwing a few weeks ago, and hasn't progressed much since suffering that setback. It's starting to look like a longshot that the oft-injured right-hander will ever make an impact for the Twins.

Definitely don't have problem with facial hair, but it just doesn't look right on him. You might be right on the color. He needs to do something different.

Tim Wood is also still sidelined - MRI showed nothing (per Twins website) so he's seeking a second opinion.

The Shoulder is the worst thing for a pitcher.
