• Twins Minor League Report (7/5): live from Cedar Rapids (Video)

As you know, I have been in Cedar Rapids for their past two games against Wisconsin. They won on Thursday, but they fell 8-7 on Friday. This is a first. Following the game, my brother played cameraman, and we decided to record the minor league report. This is, essentially, a video version of what you would typically read. Let us know what you think.

I'd also like to thank everyone involved with the Kernels, from GM Dog Nelson, to the coaching staff and the players, for being great to talk to. The Kernels are covered well locally by The Gazette and MetroSportsReport.com. Special thanks to Steve Buhr for hanging out with us. It was again a great experience, and I certainly still recommend planning a trip to see the Kernels. And yes, the rumors are true... i did throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Video possibly in the comments.

    here is the report:

I would rather have the text over the video if we only get one or the other.Video was nice but I usually read these at work on my breaks where I'm unable to watch videos. Just my opinion.

Please at least provide a text option. I don't have the time to watch video (it's painfully slow compared to reading text) and I'd hate to have to give up the daily report. It's one of the first things I look for each morning.

I would also prefer the written report.

Ditto on the text. Also, it's nice to have the links to the box scores.

I also prefer the text but I wanted to say that the effort in putting a video entry together was appreciated.

Any video link to Buxton's inside the park homerun?

I too prefer the text when it's more of a summary report about numbers. The video would appear to lend itself more to commentary or an analysis of a player or two.

Well Seth, I guess I am in the minority as I liked it. Yes, I do value the links. But for a change up...this was great.

I liked the video as a change of pace--but I do prefer the text to go back and review and the link to the box scores of each game...you didn't mention that Gonsalves made his debut in the suspended GCL game. JC thanks for the links to the video and Seth's first pitch--the original video didn't work.

I prefer text by a wide margin. Add youtube if you like, but don't replace the written word. Talking heads have been increasingly annoying in general, and without written word and graphics on the video......... well....... I quit watching after about 30 seconds. The link you provided didn't work, but gave me a pop up that wanted to use real player, which I have long ago uninstalled because of the amount of resources it uses and slows my computer down. The link SD Buhr provided went directly to youtube and played instantly, so i did start to watch it. If links make you do more than one click to get it started...... you will lose your audience quick - add that to needing to select a player or get a player, and you are dead in the water. Thanks for the reports, always.

I happened to also catch yesterday's Kernels game and took some video of the game. The playlist is posted on YouTube at Cedar Rapids Kernels 7-5-13 - YouTube
