• Twins vs White Sox, 07-23-2012, 7:10pm

Over the weekend, the Twins managed to take two of three from the Royals and now sit just one-half game back of Kansas City for fourth place in the AL Central. The Twins look to continue building on that momentum in what might be Francisco Liriano's last start in a Twins uniform. Tonight, he goes against right-hander Gavin Floyd in US Cellular Field.

Liriano has been a monster for the Twins over the past two months, posting a 2.84 ERA while striking out well over 10 batters per nine innings. The Twins haven't seen this kind of performance from the lefty since he dominated hitters early in his 2010 campaign.

Losing Francisco will certainly hurt the team in the short-term but in the long-term, it could drastically improve their chances at contending. It's all in Ryan's court at this point; all we can do is sit and wait it out. Join the discussion below and let us know what you expect from Francisco and the Twins tonight against the hated White Sox!

Now is the time for the Twins to strike, while the iron is hot. Let's talk to Liriano's agent and nail him down for a 3/30 contract. Bet he takes it now.

It's a good thing the Twins waited to trade Liriano.

Do you think teams will look at this and make Liriano's value decrease?

Not much whispering going on out there.

Thank goodness they didn't trade him yet....this should really up the trade value.

It certainly doesn't help his value.

I don't understand what's happening. Butera is out there - Frankie's chewing his gum - how could this happen?

I guess Liriano will scare away the scouts after tonight... lol

It's not like his value is suddenly going to plummet because of this outing. But the Twins are losing some major leverage here and could end up settling for a less-than-stellar return on their biggest trade chip.

Way to increase Liriano's trade value, Drew. Good God this is awful. Yay for me being at my first game of the season

What? You are in line to witness one of the better come from behind wins of the whole season. Just be patient and believe.

Well, the good news is they already missed the 2nd inning, so they absolutely cannot GIDP in every inning tonight.

They still have a shot at 8/9 though, which is still pretty impressive.
