• Twins vs White Sox, 07-30-2012, 7:10pm

The big news of the weekend was that Francisco Liriano was traded for two White Sox players. Fan outrage and then the grief process followed. Whether you like it or not, Francisco is done and the Twins now have Pedro Hernandez and somebody named Escobar.

The other news of the weekend was that the Twins beat the tar out of the Cleveland Indians in a three game set, scoring double digits in two of the games. Excellent pitching performances were the calling card of the weekend as Twins starters went deep into games and stymied the Indians offense all weekend.

Tonight, the Twins host the White Sox (but no, you-know-who isn't pitching yet) as Cole De Vries takes on Jose Quintana. The Sox swept the Twins just last week but after their dominating performance against Cleveland, the Twins surely want revenge. Can they do it? What do you expect from De Vries tonight and can the Twins get to Quintana? Join the discussion below and tell us about it!

One thing you can never accuse Gardy or the Twins coaches of... using transparent catching signals.

Mauer has run through a number of combined signals, including 2 sets: 1 on the body, and a 2nd subsjequent, on the fingers. Very tough to figure out quickly.

Yeah but DeVries is gripping in his hand outside the glove.

I think it's going to take an Alexander Hamilton to win this game tonight.

That catch was phenomenal. Plays like that are the reason I want Span to stick around.

Perhaps, but this is exactly why I say that for him you have to get a true high-ceiling prospect in return or you don't do the deal.

Hopefully Devries can get through this inning unscathed and the Twins can turn it over to the bullpen. He just doesn't have it tonight.

No reason to move him unless we get paid decently. No problem with Span Boeing a Twin next year.

We'll win - I predict 11 runs for the Twins. 9 for the Sux.

Atta boy, Fien. Throw him the hard fastball on 3-2, make Alexei hit it.

Different flavor of guile there, but still guile.
