• Twins vs White Sox, 07-31-2012, 7:10pm

Tonight, we can count on at least one thing: the fans at Target Field are going to boo a pitcher.

Nick Blackburn takes the mound against recently-traded Francisco Liriano for the White Sox. While it's pretty likely that Nick Blackburn will give up a handful of runs in the first four innings, most of the interest will be following the performance of Liriano, who has been a well above-average pitcher for the past two and a half months, despite pitching a complete clunker against the White Sox in US Cellular Field in his last start.

What do you expect from Blackburn tonight? What about Liriano? After all those years of watching him pitch, how will Twins hitters attack the newly-traded pitcher? Be sure to join the Twins Daily discussion below and rip on your least favorite pitcher today!

Blackburn and the Twins battle all night, just to have it thrown away by a pitcher who should not even be on the staff.

Careful, you'll get the Gray Brigade all worked up.

Maybe AJ can stick around after the game to show Mauer how to pull the ball (out of the stadium).

Gray hadn't pitched in a while and needed some work. A 2-2 game in the ninth is as good a time as any I guess.

If it is so easy to find good Bullpen arms, why then is Gray on this team?

Are you ****ing kidding me? Top of the 9th, tie game, middle of the order, you went with Gray???How many ****ing arms you have in the pen? Can't you get anyone better?

Again I am baffled by Gray having a roster spot much less time in the 9th in a tied game.

Also count me in the Mastro at 2b trial - guy plays a solid offensive game if he can field it.

Maybe this was Gray's "last chance"
Hopefully it was. Bring up ANYONE with a potential future at this point.

Spankind! Here's a thought, how about if Revere continues to play well we trade Revere in the off-season and keep Span around?

Reminds me of the mysterious Brian Bass 9th inning appearance.

I believe we concluded on BYTO that it was an "EFF-U" message from Gardy to the front office.

I for one am glad we've held on to Span and Revere. Now if only we could find a power hitting RF and move Hammer to DH and Doumit to back up C/bench bat.

Of course, in addition to lots of SP.

It seems that Ron was probably looking too far ahead in this ball game. That's ****ty way to go about it. I guess I don't understand why they have stuck with this guy. What does Gray have that a handful of guys in AAA don't have? What a waste.

Little bit over aggressive there Joe. Another shame of a game.

The walk-off bobbled grounder, poor flip, near collision barehanded catch.

      Just like I envisioned it.
