  • Twins vs Indians, 08-08-2012, 11:05am

Well, the Twins did it again. Trailing 5-1 to the Indians late in the game last night, they rallied in the final three frames, scoring six times on route to a 7-5 win. Almost everyone was involved in the rally and even the much-lamented Tsuyoshi Nishioka drove in the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly, sending Cleveland to their eleventh consecutive loss.

The Twins have to turn around quickly and do it again this morning, starting the game at just 11 o'clock Central Time. Brian Duensing goes against Justin Masterson. Duensing got it done with smoke and mirrors in his last outing, going six innings while giving up only two runs on 10 hits. Masterson is coming off one of his worst starts of the season, pitching only four innings while giving up seven runs.

Who will get it done this morning for the Twins? Can they keep the streak going and move into a tie for third place with the Indians? Will Nishi get his first hit of 2012 in today's game? Join the Twins Daily discussion below and let us know your opinion!

I expect Plouffe to be back but I'll admit that I was a little disheartened by his comments last night about how much the thumb still hurts.

This is my last bash of Nishioka for the day...Having Nishi at 2B makes Dozier look like a gold glover at SS. Just sayin!

EDIT: And one more thing, I would have been lying if I said I didn't expect Nishi to ground into a double play there...guess I was wrong!

Makes Dozier look like a deity with better defense than Ozzie Smith might be more like it...

How is Nishioka not the player of the game?

Did anyone catch Duesnsing resorting to Primal Scream Therapy into his mitt at the end of the 6th?

I think that was the moment that Bert broke his silence, mentioning in the top of the 7th that he had to defend the pitchers and state what the score "really" was.

That usually happens when they are coming back from their rest and rehab too...
