2014: Fort Myers (Disabled List)
This guy needs no introduction. He has more big-time tools than any prospect in Twins history. And he has the numbers to prove it, which is why he is the consensus number 1 prospect in all of baseball. He projects to start the year in Fort Myers and make it to New Britain in 2014. He has an outside shot at making it to Rochester this year. Either way, he has a clear path to the majors for a debut in 2015. This would displace Aaron Hicks, who could move to a corner or be moved for pitching, a la Denard Span and Ben Revere.
Unfortunately, Buxton sprained his left (non-throwing) wrist diving for a ball in late March and has not participated in baseball activities since.
Update 1: According to reports, Rob Anton says he will resume baseball activities on April 9. There is no timetable for his return to game action.
