    Last year's winner was Jeremy Hellickson, who grew up in Iowa... It's about where the players are from. MN, SD, ND, IA, maybe WI...

    looks like home runs and the recently "undervalued" RBI are the key to most valuable player.......... and not OBP and average w/RISP. ...... and perhaps the new in vogue "boutique" stats. interesting. upper midwest player of the year? that is a strange one. what does that mean...... and is it just a twins' organization award?

    Doesn't seem fair that Scott Diamond gets an award that bears his name while the other winners don't. Perhaps if the Twins renamed the yearly awards the Blackburn awards there would be no chance of that happening again.
