Hell yes. He's 26 and had one bad year last year. When he's on, he can be great.

I'll go with "maybe" just to cover all the bases.

He can be good, and he's still young. How much will it take?

His last contracr was 5.5. Considering what Baker got, I think that would be the starting point for a 1 year deal.

He doesnt have a track record like Bakers, but someone might be able to hone in the potential that still might be their. So your probably right and he gets a deal similar to Bakers.

We need pitchers. He's a pitcher. Give him a call and get him on the team.

take a shot? cannot hurt, but I'm not sure I'd give him much.... not even sure I'd want a guaranateed ML deal.

Watched him pitch against Rochester last summer. They lite him up and he looked terrible. A week or so later, they again faced him in Georgia. Didn't see that game, but he pitched much better and I believe he got the win.

Is he someone to be interested in, certainly. But after being non-tendered I would see him coming only for a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.

He had one bad year. Don't overpay, but definitely call him.

exactly. Im sure he will have a couple teams believing he can be the pitcher he was a few years back. Why not give him a call, if he wants to much...just pass.

He's a Boras client, so Jurrjens will get every dime out of the deal he signs. I would love for the Twins to take a chance on him, but it won't come cheap.

I wouldn't touch him. The Braves made him available for any sort of trade since July all the way up to today, and no one bit, and for good reason on that. He'd be perfect on a Jon Lieber deal (one year of basically nothing with a huge second year based on performance of first year or after surgery is done). He's still likely going to need more surgery, but he refused to get it, which is one reason why he didn't see the MLB roster in September for the Braves.

Well... I don't like that surgery bit at all. Ben has gently changed my opinion in a big way. I'm now a no to Jurrjens,

He'll sign for less than 5 million or we would have traded Alexi Casilla or someone like him aready or so would someone else. I am going with a lower base plus incentives to 5 or 6 million. We should absolutely contact him. If we can get 2 solid starters through FA. then we can handle 1 reclamation project like Jurgens, or Baker, or Pavano. We just don't want to have all projects as that wont work.

The good reason... no possibility the Braves were going to tender. The Twins are the perfect match. He needs opportunity. No one has more opportunity to offer. He should jump at any low salary incentive based deal the Twins offer.
