What if the **** hits the fans?
What happens if Joe benson,Chris Parmelee and Mr.hicks are not ready for prime time?
What if Darren Mastroanni isnt a full time player?
What if Josh Willingham is the best defensive outfielder we have in 2013?
What if Terry is wrong about Florimon and Dozier can not handle shortstop?
What if bone chips in fact are a precurser to tommy john surgery, and
both Scott Diamonds and Worely are done for the season by June?
What if Harden and Pelfrey both imitate Zumyaya and never make it out of spring training?
What if klank Ploufe continues to have a stone hands?
What if as most predict Correias ERA translates into the low 5.00s in the A.L.?
What if Nick Blackburn is our best starter?
Yes i understand it all could be just the oppisite and we are playing meaningful games come September
But im guessing we challenge the Cleveland spider as the worst team ever , rather then play in the post season ...

Top draft picks, yeah! Go Twins!
And there's got to be a pony under all this horse manure!

There are lots of things that can go wrong this year. But there are also a lot of things that could surprise on the upside.

This thread actually gives me hope. Yes, every thing bad on this list could happen. But it's when everything looks completely hopeless that you have the best chance of a surprise on the upside.
What if Hicks and Parmelee blossom this year into steady players? And Mastroianni is a steady 4th outfielder?
What if the rotation gells in a way we don't expect end puts up a decent ERA? (or ERA+? or xFIP? or whatever is the hot stat these days?)
What if the infield plays well enough to compete and doesn't completely suck?
What if Mauer and Morneau have good years and become the M&M boys again?
Will all this happen? Probably not. But I'm not going to assume that all the bad stuff will either.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm going to hold off assuming doom until at least May. And I'd be happy with a 500 team.

If all of your what ifs happen it will take quite a few more beers and brats for Leviathan to watch a game. Three days after the end of the season he would wind up in detox. With so many brats on board he would end up a contestant on the weight loss show.

COME ON. This thread title is a direct violation of board rules. The title. You didn't even bother to bury it in a post paragraph.

What if the asteroid hits, with Target Field as the zero point?

This is what this season is about. Could be like 2000. The Twins need to figure out what they have and who can help them next year. So if this year is lost, we will have a much better idea of what the Twins have coming quickly next year.
