Stadium in trouble?
Governor Dayton Threatens to Nix Vikings Stadium
By Jay Caldwell 5 hours ago
The Vikings stadium could be in some trouble. According to Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com Governor Mark Dayton isn’t happy with the Vikings to 2 reasons. One is the Vikings willingness to play home games in London while the Stadium is being constructed and two because the Vikings are planning to raise their portion of the team’s contribution toward the stadium by raising season-ticket costs with seat lisencing fees.
Dayton said “The project’s strong support came from many regular Minnesotans, not just rich Minnesotans, because they believed the Vikings are also their team. If a new stadium were to betray that trust, it would be better that it not be built.”
The Vikings were off the radar of Los Angeles as far as team’s that could move there but would be right back on the radar if something can’t be figured out.

11-13-2012, 08:32 PM #2I don't understand. Those season ticket holders will have first dibs at ticket sales in the new park, right? We all remember what happened in 2010 with Target Field. For many games, tickets were impossible to buy from the Twins and on stubhub they were selling for 2-4 times face value, more in some cases. Why shouldn't the season ticket holders have to pay a premium to hold onto their privilege? We are all invested now, whether you had been a fan or not. If you want to go to get a shiny new seat to one of the games, get in line like the rest of us.because the Vikings are planning to raise their portion of the team’s contribution toward the stadium by raising season-ticket costs with seat lisencing fees.
This is only the market playing itself out.

Dayton should shut his pie hole. He already approved this.
The stadium is not in jeopardy, it's "man of the people" bluster.

Dayton signed the agreement, and PSLs were clearly spelled out in it... as was a London game.
I'm more concerned that voters will let him get away with "I didn't read the contract." That, IMHO, is ridiculous.
