Isn't an out reminder one of the limited responsibilities of the first base coach?
Well he got himself out of some deep deduno there.
Yes! Nice play at the plate! That's still two wild pitches in the inning, though. Hope Deduno can settle down.
Chances Deduno throws a pitch in the 6th?
I always wondered why no one has tried to railroad the pitcher when he's covering the plate instead of the catcher. I get the old "he'll throw at your head" argument, but it's not like players haven't done other things to piss off the other team before.
It is the players job to perform on the field. It is the mangers job to motivate that performance. Players will perform at the level that is expected of them. I've always been in Gardy's corner, but after last year I am looking more critically of what is happening and who is being held accountable.
Who says the Hammer is a liability in the field? Nice running catch at the wall.
That tightrope continues to be walked.
Nice clutch strikeout of Kinsler. Now to face Andrus - can't walk him to load the bases for Hamilton, so this will be a great test.
Aaaaand... Karl Wallenda remains on the tightrope after a serious wobble. Well done.
Well, it hasn't been pretty with Deduno, but facing a tough Texas lineup, you have to say he has done alright.
In the lead again.
