Yeah, saw that. Wonder if a deal gets done now. I'd expect the Pirates to not want to give him more than one year. But who knows. The Pirates are nuts.
Liriano hurt his non pitching shoulder before his physical with the Pirates. No physical passed, no deal.
That's too bad. I've heard he's a decent person, and I was hoping he caught on somewhere (other than Minnesota, of course).
If his deal with the Pirates falls through, I would not be surprised at all if he ends up back with the Twins.
I heard he was pitching wiffle balls to his 4 yr old nephew, and wrenched his right shoulder when he turned quick to watch a 250 ft tater...
Apparently Sid thinks the Twins should take a run at him...what the f--k
Signing Liriano at this point to a 1 year, incentive-heavy deal would not be the worst move the front office has made this offseason. Doesn't mean it's necessarily wise, just that the bar for "not the worst move" has been set so low that it's pretty easy to clear.
I'd gamble on Liriano before Correia.
The new contract includes only $1M in guaranteed money. He can earn another $12.75 over two years through incentives.
Liriano needs a new agent
I'm still pissed that the Twins traded him last year! We should have held onto him and offered him a qualifying offer.
