It seems to me that attitude is largely a perception based argument and not necessarily a reality. I'm not a fan of Gardy just to be clear, but I'm not sure any of us can reasonably argue that Gardy...
If we were to combine the information from other threads (articles) concerning Santana (SS) and this thread, it is highly unlikely the Twins draft any SS this June. Plus, there is (so far) so much...

On that note of who determines the "Line" for attitude. I was wondering - What is the average time frame for making it around the bases after a home run? 17 seconds - 20 seconds -23 seconds - 26...

The only one I can think of is Garza, who neither Ryan nor Gardy had anything to do with. A couple left like Hunter and Cuddyer, but let's be honest, it was never in the Twins best interest to keep...

As someone who has studied philosophy and theology, I can share that some of our greatest minds with some of the most profound ideas ever put to paper by human beings have absolutely some of the...

Again, I think the Twins made the right move. They already committed to Nolasco and Hughes. They have a handful of young players coming in the next 12 months.
Taking a swing at grabbing Garza for...
Given how much the Twins shelled-out for pitching this off-season (and the value obtained!), I'm hoping they can select a potential top-of-the-rotation pitcher too. A team can win in the playoffs...

I think this and what JB said are why it's not fair to say "No, it won't be successful because they aren't making the playoffs/winning the title" It's just not a fair or realistic way of measuring...
I personally think the mods do a wonderful job on this site. If it is to tight or not enough freedom to say what you really want, go read the the Star Tribune comments or the comments of a yahoo web...
It is hard to argue that Florimon is part of a problem we have of several players posting an OPS of a #9 hitter. However another way to look at this problem is that Florimon's position is probably...

You can never have enough good pitching. At this point most of the starting pitching we have is very suspect. Sign him!
There is actually a lot of great points made on both sides of this discussion. As I see it, the two camps are basically these:
A) Correia turned out to be a better signing than anyone expected. He...
He hasn't had enough time to use the data and say he won't hit major league pitching.
His OPS+ through 631 plate appearances is 98.
Cuddyer through 1109 was 97.
Morneau through 970 was 100.
Well, has shown that he can hit MLB pitching... The problem is that it's so infrequently that it's increasingly difficult to believe he will ever be an adequate MLB hitter overall.
The Twins never gave him consistent play time. It could be that they assessed through in watching him in the organization that he does not have the skill of an everyday player. That assessment may be...

Draft decisions should be made on present-day, individual analyses and not on past results. It doesn't matter what happened in the past--it's what is now. There are advantages in both: the HS kid...

Trades only work that way when the other side has to make a trade. You aren't going to get a top 100-150 prospect for Doumit, Deduno/Worley, and a reliever. As it is, Gilmartin being in the Brave's...

I have to echo something someone else said: I have to think the trading isn't done. I fully expect a member of the pen to find a new home yet this offseason.... Perhaps two.
If defensive metrics are telling anybody that. They are flawed and worthless.
I watched him play RF... He threw at least 4 runners out at 2B playing the ball off the wall and throwing a perfect...
Player A: 543 PAs, .812 OPS, 124 OPS+, 25 HR, 79 RBI
Player B: 533 PAs, .745 OPS, 105 OPS+, 16 HR, 65 RBI
Player A is the average for the Hammer in the last two years. Player B is...
Like Florimon, Twins fans don't even know what they have in Deduno. The guy is awesome when he's healthy. He is a gamer. He doesn't go out there to nibble at corners and pitter patter around. He goes...
Mauer does kind of break assumptions about BABIP. He sprays the ball all over. He doesn't hit a lot of fly balls (which have the lowest babip's), and those he does hit, almost none are IFFB's, he...
Desperate and Hamstrung. Pujols and Hamilton and a drained farm system has put them in an impossible position.
I'd almost rather be the Twins. ;)
The Angels will come back when Pujols and...
But you also might be over valuing other teams interest. I think the Twins are one of the few teams that aren't turned off by low strike out rates. In 2011, Hendriks krate fell off when he went to...
