Logan Darnell has pitched very well in AAA, but doesn't inspire many that he can succeed in MLB.
Moving KC would give us a chance to see what Darnell, and perhaps also Johnson, can do.

I would relieve TR of the GM role with a great deal of thanks and perhaps a role in the organization.
I would hire a GM who sat Gardy down and explained that, while loyalty is a good thing, his...

The Twins went out and spent big on free agent pitching during the offseason, and yet they still can't seem to escape the same old outcome: eroded depth and a totally inadequate starting staff.

I think it's asking too much of Hughes to take on the Rangers by himself.

They're going to really work that pitch count up on Weaver, get into the bullpen.

Bringing up Pino sure seems to be getting a lot of flack.
This is a guy with a 0.934 WHIP. He's doing something right.
Why not find out if he can do that in the big leagues?

I was going to 'LIKE' your post until I saw the Joba comment....

Our DH position has actually hit quite well.
And I don't know what your checking account balance looks like, but I bet the Pohlads don't consider $7,500,000 to be 'modest cash'.

Correia is starting to look like a genius.
That kinda has me flummoxed.

That was some of the most painful pitching I've ever watched.
I don't really feel anyone has a right to act surprised. He has been a league average pitcher in the NL since his career year in 2008 (124 ERA+, 1.102 WHIP).
His SO/9 rate has dropped (by over...

Nice look at it John, but you're mistaken.
I have tickets to Wednesday's game.
So the Hughes/Darvish match-up is actually one day early.
These are indeed oddities.
I am especially surprised that we've not seen home runs from Plouffe.
If someone had told me he would have 1 home run this late into the season I would have thought it...
If they give Bernier a chance maybe Arcia will eventually replace Florimon.

Walking Drew suggests that Tonkin hit his pitch limit.

Yes, Darby's is kind of a high-end dive.
Nothing quite like drinking beer in an alley before the game.
I think that what I've learned about Terry Ryan is that he just doesn't see the advantage of hiring high ceiling guys.
No one would suggest that Nolasco has greater potential than Kazmir. But we...
A 24 year old OF with a .210/.239/.306 (.545) slash line in AA.
Um, why would they pick him up? Any help here? Are we shy in our AA OF?
I believe that Hicks' ceiling is starting to look like a fair hitting good defense center fielder. Perhaps a 4th OF.
I expect a more likely outfield late next season is Arcia, Buxton...
Nice catch gunnarthor.
Fun article. And a Senator!

Mudcat Grant won 21 games in 1965 and the Twins went to the World Series.
As a kid I thought he was the greatest.
Sausage and green olives.

Great article. Thank John.
Can't be happier for the guy.
Sticking with his dreams and finally playing in MLB. (and rather well, I might add)

Scratched out some tickets for today.
I seem to have managed that every since the Twins moved to Target Field. Went to the home opener in 2010 and I'm hooked.
Correia has an unusually strong...
That is truly amazing.
Just cannot get over it.

In 2010 the Twins had 5 players with an OPS of .800 or more.*
Most of the projections above have 1 or 2 players with an OPS of .800 or more.
We need a lot better for this year to be much...
