Although it's not like Markakis is really a better choice.

I sort of agree with this, but I always prefer to see a young, future superstar in his breakout years rather than an established superstar in his decline. Too many guys get voted in year after year...

Here's my NL ballot.
1B– Similar to Davis in the AL, Paul Goldschmidt hits bombs. Paul Goldschmidt, ARI
2B –I can never keep Matt Carpenter and Chris Carpenter straight. I also don't know...
A bit of a tough week for Harrison. 4 Errors, just 4 for 21 (.190), though he did have 5 walks giving him a .370 OBP. He also had a HR and a double.
Overall on the year he now has a triple slash...

The All-Star game is the most important game of the year (Home-field advantage!), so obviously careful attention must be paid when filling out our ballots. We must avoid voting for sentimental...
The common conception is that the two biggest jumps in level for a prospect to make is from A+ to AA and from A to A+.
Doesn't really make sense to do them both at once. For any prospect.
Nice to see him bounce back in his second start at AA.
At the rate he's been moving, I wonder if we could see him on the opening day roster next year.

Sounds fun. I've been trying to keep a twins prospect board this year as it's a good way to follow the minor leaguers
I don't think I'd be upset if the Twins took Shipley. He can touch the high 90's with his heater and would probably sign slightly under slot, giving the Twins a bit of flexibility later.
There's no way Boston can cut a deal with Stewart that forces the Twins to pass on him.
Boston 6.8 million for the first 10 rounds, 3.2 million for their 1st pick. Say the Twins want to take a...
Personally I think he'll spend the whole year in Cedar Rapids and start next year in Fort Myers, especially if the organization wants to keep him at third base. But I don't actually know anything. ...
Great interview, I linked it on his prospect thread now.
I've always thought that cross training, like golf, could be good for a player, maybe not everyone, but these guys swing baseball bats so...
Thanks to SD Buhr for his great interview with Harrison:

I can't see this happening, because it just seems like a terrible strategy.
I can't believe that the Astros really think Moran is a comparable talent to the other top guys in the draft. They...

I wouldn't, but I can't speak for the Twins obviously.
There are a lot of factors that can go into the decision to go to college. Signing in the top 10 would give him financial security for many...
You have to realize that Santana is 20 months younger than Beresford and playing in the same league. Age to league to can be a pretty big factor in determining how well a player's stats hold up in a...
How does Beresford's defense rate? He's always hit well in the minors, albeit with zero power, so his ticket to the majors seems to be as a utility infielder. I know he's played a few games at 3B,...
Great game for Harrison last night going 3 for 4 with a homerun, which gives him homeruns in back-to-back games and 7 (or 8 depending on how you want to count) on the year.
Hopefully he can...
A found a bit better, more up-to-date scouting report on Thorpe that I hadn't seen when first starting this thread. From BA:
His fastball was 86-88 touching 91 before the signing period began,...
It's been two weeks since I last updated because I'm in Sweden now where they don't have baseball but something called brännboll instead, so I've been a little out of the loop. But anyway.
First, here's a video of Harrison's walk-off last week:
It looks like a high fastball that Harrison is able to turn on using his quick hands.
After that at bat he...

The last two years haven't been great, and by the time August rolls around it is unlikely that the Twins will be very close to the division leaders, but this is nothing like the mid and late 90's,...

Love the start from Baxendale. Seems like he could be a solid middle of the rotation guy. Great value in the 10th round.
In a chat with Jeff Johnson of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, farm director Brad Steil was asked if Buxton would be kept in Cedar Rapids for at least half a year. He said:
"Don’t know about that....
