They didn't even have many good at bats. The Jays pitching was just awful.
Having a bunch of technical difficulties this morning, trying to find the cause right now.
I didn't find that half inning fun at all. I found it terribly sad and an affront to all things baseball.
Happy the Twins won, never care to see that level of play again.

I actually like the top of the lineup just fine how it is. Dozier's OBP continues to climb, Mauer is a fantastic second hitter, Plouffe had done well enough in the third spot, and Kubel/Colabello...

This might be the worst half inning of baseball I've ever seen.

He was confused about the importance of OBP.
And that it was a good thing.
And, it seemed for a moment, what it was in the first place.

Sometimes, I wonder if Gladden has ever watched a baseball game, much less played one.

Brian Dozier. Strong like bull.
Bull with beautiful, flowing mane.

I didn't even look at the author of this thread. I just mattered "Oh christ, Dave." when I saw the title.

I still think he's better than that. Every start has been plagued by one bad inning mixed into nearly-unhittable baseball.
And Tonkin really screwed over his stat line in that last start. Still...

In the case of a doubleheader on a cold day, I think it's a solid plan. You want Colabello's bat out there for game two.
Both. The back of my mind is starting to honestly believe this team has a shot at 75+ wins.
Colabello, Kubel, and possibly Dozier/Plouffe will cool off a bit but they're all looking like legit MLB...

Joe Mauer should have hit a dinger there. 11 pitch single to right. Unacceptable.

You really need to stop rebutting my posts with arguments I haven't made. Refer to the forum rules, that is clearly against TD commenting policy. I have not advocated trading Dozier. Not once. I...

Yep, and after a cursory glance, it appears that he's missin' lots and lots of bats.

Brian Dozier's lowest single season batting average is .234.
Pedro Florimon's highest single season batting average is .221.

That'd be a real shot in the arm if May suddenly figured it out and stopped walking people.

That was some serious veteran presence by the Stylin' Hawaiian.

My second favorite play in baseball, but only when it happens in the fifth inning.

The fourth inning sacrifice bunt.
My favorite play in baseball.

If Plouffe is really an .800 OPS hitter, you don't bench that guy. You give him a position or you trade him to someone who will give him a position.

This is what I said:
This is what you said:
Dozier is an above average hitter. You're the only person who continues to bring up his batting average as if that is the only attribute that...

1. Florimon isn't even in the same league defensively as the Wizard.
2. Ozzie Smith turned the corner in his age 27 season, posting an OPS+ that Florimon hasn't approached and that hasn't changed...

"Hitting" is not synonymous with "batting average".
Batting average is one aspect of hitting. There is also power and discipline, which Dozier has shown both this season and the majority of last...
