Then it looks like you are carrying the ball today - it's your off day to pitch anyway, right? :)

It's you, it's the team, AND it's the swag :)

Bad ball hitting? Maybe he's finally taking the "Puckett vs. Mauer" debate to heart :)

When I think 180..
"Plouffe races in on a slow grounder, turns and throws back to third--- OHH and it's down the left field line! No one was covering third! One run scores...

This anecdote is also retold in Dickey's book.
Here in Twins territory, we employ chess tactics far beyond what any mortal baseball mind could ever hope to understand, all you can do is hope it...

Honestly if you compare Florimon's 2013 hitting to just about any other guy who played middle infield since Hardy left, Florimon is really not that far off offensively.
Florimon's 2013 stat line...

I think the lesson tonite is,
don't play against Canadian bank robbers...

Sticky: Honestly though, thats a real...
thats a real f-----------------ing lonely feeling out there for him right now. as far as key at bats he's done, but I hope he gets it turned around

And the answer to my question is Yes, yes he did.
04-15-2014, 10:14 PM
I think he's hitting like .856 after the 7th inning :)

good eye Joe
There was a 3-run bomb on the other side of that base on balls :)
When will they race on a Figure 8 track ?

I also think there's pressure prior to the All Star break. With the baseball universe descending on Minneapolis this summer, I don't think Pohlad wants to be the host with another bungling team 15...

So, you want a 34 year old Pedro Florimon… :)

Sticky: High Fives for the win!!!
High Fives for the win!!!

He's just too wild to use in high leverage situations, which leaves him as a mop up guy. I can't really fault Gardy though for bringing him in the 11th to pitch for as many innings as he could get.

To what Chief and Leviathan just said.
As a Mauer guy, I will say it is a little disappointing, with the game on the line, to watch him take a base on balls and pass it off to the next guy.

I come down on your side. He's obviously the face of the franchise but I think the Mauer-hate phenomenon is whipped up by the media. Barriero was talking about it again yesterday and it's easy to nod...

My recollection, as reliable as those things can be at ten years' distance, was that Lecroy was never more than anything but an oversized novelty who couldn't outrun the umpire to first, while there...

Don't think I ever heard of this -wow. Like a Lost Honeymooner episode.
Well worth the 25 minutes if you have the time.
Either that, or I was thinking the Yankees might forfeit a couple times.

Nah, I'm hoping Kubel holds the spot, and if Hicks needs a day off or comes up with a scratch or bump we can just roll with an outfield of Willingham-Bartlett-Kubel for a few games :)

grey just feels more grey than gray
04-05-2014, 11:19 AM
So would everyone. :)
Unfortunately these are only two of the six options.
The others are:
lose with veterans
play about .500 with veterans

Rookie mistake by whoever fills out the lineups :) That's why we have spring training, to iron out these mistakes before the season starts :)
