    Peoria, IL

Anyone spent any time here? I'll be moving here for work in 2 months. Wondering if anyone has any input about the area.

Ooof. At least Chicago is only 3 hours away.

Haven't really been ... but when you get the chance, a trip to Springfield (which isn't that far away) to see the Lincoln Library/Museum is well worth it. And when coming to Chicago, if you can, take the train and avoid driving into the city. We aren't that friendly to outlier drivers.

I think it might actually be Bloomington, not Peoria.

Wherever you end up, make sure you sniff out a restaurant that serves a decent horseshoe. I forget if its an all Illinios thing, or just the central region from when I lived there years and years ago.

My wife says Monocles pizza joint is amazing. She tries to make me drive there every trip to Chicago.

You do know what Bloomington-Normal is referred to as, don't you?

Twins cities. I'm actually in Normal right now and it isn't bad at all. I don't think I'll be looking for a place in the city though, much too expensive and busy. Any opinions on cities to the North? The job is going to be just outside of Minonk if that helps.
